Ajdas and Innas Composte Lab

Question (What are you testing?):

We are going to study how to different types of food (vegetable. Fruit) are decomposing in two different Decomposition Columns (bottles). 


Hypothesis- We think that the fruit (the pear) will decompose faster then the vegetable (the potato)

 

Variables you will change (manipulated): In the original lab we are suppose to use apples and leaves, but instead of using apples and leaves we will use potato's and pears. In the two bottles that we will have we will observe the difference in the pear bottle and the potato bottle.

 

Variables you will keep constant (control): We are using the same procedure, the only thing we are changing are the materials: we decided to decompose fruit and vegetables with leaves and and grass. While the procedure of the making of the projec will stay the same.

 

Materials you will need:

• 6- 2 liter soda bottles


• one bottle cap


• Bottle Biology Tool Kit


• potato


• mandarin


• leaves


• grass
